Camp walks!

In preparation for Hanmer Camp we will be taking our students for walks to prepare for their activities on camp. Please make sure they are wearing suitable footwear. There will be a definite walk each Thursday at 1.30 p.m. and possibly another during the week depending on the weather and what’s on.  If you would like to walk on any of the Thursdays you would be most welcome. Just please email us beforehand.

Bokashi Buckets

We are going to trial Bokashi buckets in Navigators 3. It is a way of composting but it doesn't stink so we will keep it in the classroom. If it's successful we will use it all around the school. We got given some Bokashi mix and buckets. Here is a video explaining what they are.

of plastic it is! - Did you know until now, we had to send our plastic overseas to be recycled, but now... New Zealand has a Recycling Factory all of its own! It is located in Wellington.

Incredible Ice Skater

A few weeks ago Amy competed in the Centaurus Ice Skating Club Competition. She competed in the level 4 B element and she came first out of 5 people. Way to go Amy. We are very proud of you.

An Update on Edward

Edward now weighs 3.1kg. His immune system is not as strong as other newborn babies so Ms Risk will wait a little while before she brings him in to visit us at school. Our syndicate team visited him last week and he is absolutely beautiful as the photos below show.

Recycling tip of the week

You should buy things from an  Eco Shop. If you buy things from the Eco Shop you are reusing items so they don't have to go to landfill. It is on Blenheim Rd, Riccarton, Christchurch

Jame's new Miniature Schnauzer

Jame's is getting a new miniature schnauzer in a few weeks time. Check out this little cutie. He is only 3 weeks old so needs more time with his mum before he makes the big trip south to live with James's family.
