Navigators- Year 5 and 6 Camp at Hanmer Springs
Room 20, 21
Camp Notice 2 Monday 7 August
Dear Parents / Caregivers
Thanks so much for promptly returning the health and parent help forms. This is really important as it means we can move on to the next stage of planning. We now have a definite cost which is $210 This is payable online or at the office by 1 September.
This letter contains more important details for you and your child so please read it carefully.
The children will need to be dropped off at school by 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday 20 September.
Please do not be late as we need time for organising the students and will be leaving promptly when ready at 9am whether your child is there or not. Bags (will fruit and baking for while at camp inside) need to be well labelled and placed outside on the new court area in front of the office (if wet inside the hall). Children will need to keep their day packs with them.
In their days packs they will need:
- Morning tea and a cut lunch for when they arrive at the camp.
- Their pencil cases to use for their camp book exercises. We will collect their camp books in on Friday to give out to them on the bus or at Hanmer.
- A warm jersey, jacket or polar fleece.
- A drink bottle.
Fruit/Home Baking/Packet of biscuits:
The children need to bring either a bag of fruit, container of home baking or biscuits or snack bars for our morning and afternoon teas. This is to be inside their bags and handed into the kitchen upon arrival at Hanmer Springs.
It is important that all children have a waterproof jacket and could you please also ensure that all gear is clearly named. If you need another gear list it is online in all classes’ blogs which can be accessed through the school website
We ask that the children leave cell phones, electronic toys and sweets at home. Should you need to contact your child urgently, please contact your child’s teacher.
Please turn over and read the back of this sheet too.
We will arrive back in Christchurch at 3.30/4pm on Friday 22 September.
Your child will need to be picked up from outside the dental clinic at this time.
If you need to contact the teachers in an emergency you can ring the managers at the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp, phone number is 03 315 7202. Otherwise you can email the teachers on alicep@stmartins.school.nz or Sheryl on 027 4581953
If there are any problems or anything you feel needs to be explained further please contact us at school.
A gear list is attached.
Kinds regards
Alice Perry & Sheryl Burgess
